PF arrests former STJ advisor suspected of selling court sentences

A PF (Federal Police) arrested the former advisor of the STJ (Superior Court of Justice) Márcio José Toledo Pinto, identified as a participant in a court sentence selling scheme.

The preventive detention was carried out after the minister’s order Cristiano Zanindo STF (Supreme Federal Court).

The former advisor was issued a search and seizure warrant this Tuesday morning for obstruction of justice.

The PF requested the arrest of the person being investigated, claiming that the former advisor had tried to hinder the investigations.

According to the PF, the metadata of the digital files shared between those investigated indicated that the then, at the time working in Minister Isabel Gallotti’s office, would have been responsible for preparing the unduly disclosed minutes.

Last week, he was accused of exploiting prestige, breaching functional secrecy and joining a criminal organization. At the conclusion of the report, the Federal Police states that “— there is robust evidence of the existence of a criminal organization structured to negotiate judicial decisions, operating inside and outside of courts, money laundering and influence peddling”.

Although employees from ministers’ offices such as Og Fernandes, Isabel Gallotti, Nancy Andrighi and Moura Ribeiro were mentioned, in this partial conclusion the PF ruled out the participation of any magistrate.
