US President Donald Trump stated this Wednesday (1st) through social media that the Iran called for a ceasefire for the war in the Middle East. To date, Iran is still did not officially comment on the information.
“The new president of the Iranian regime, much less radicalized and much more intelligent than his predecessors, has just asked the United States of America for a ceasefire!” Trump wrote in a post on the Truth Social platform
In the same message, the president conditioned any progress on the normalization of navigation on a strategic route in the region. “We will consider the issue when the Strait of Hormuz is open, free and unimpeded,” he said, referring to the Strait of Hormuz, through which much of the oil traded globally passes.
Trump also adopted a tougher tone when addressing the continued attacks. “Until then, we will bomb Iran until its destruction or, as they say, back to the Stone Age,” he declared.
The conflict, which began on February 28 with attacks by the United States and Israel against Iranspread throughout the Middle East, which caused a crisis in the energy sector and the world economy.
