Iran fired more waves of missiles at Israel and air defenses intervened again. The attacks come shortly after Donald Trump’s victory speech.
Israel’s military said its air defense systems responded to new waves of missiles fired from Iran on Thursday morning. At least two attacks came after US President Donald Trump’s overnight address to the nation, in which he declared that Washington had achieved “swift, decisive and overwhelming victories” in Iran and was close to achieving its goals. TASR informs about it according to the report of the AFP agency.
After the first attack, police said they had dispatched officers to “several impact sites”, local media said, totaling up to nine, on suspicion that Iran had used cluster munitions. At least four people reportedly suffered minor injuries.
Multiple rocket waves
After about six hours, the Israeli military announced that it had identified three more waves of rockets fired from Iran towards the country’s territory. Alarm sirens sounded in several parts of northern and central Israel. No deaths or injuries have yet been reported following these attacks.
On Thursday morning, rocket attacks were also reported from Lebanon, where the pro-Iranian militant movement Hezbollah operates. They allegedly targeted Israeli soldiers in the border area, and so far there have been no casualties or injuries.
Statement by the President of the United States
In his address to the nation on Wednesday, Trump declared that the US had achieved “swift, decisive and overwhelming victories” in Iran and renewed his threat of more strikes in the coming weeks. White’s boss said Operation Epic Fury was necessary for US security and called the regime in the Islamic Republic violent and murderous.
