This Thursday (2), Acre begins a new chapter in its administrative history. officially assumes the position of governor of the State, filling the vacancy left by Gladson Cameli. The moment is symbolic: Mailza breaks a fast of almost four decades, becoming the second woman to govern Acre since Iolanda Fleming, the pioneer in the country.
Born in Mundo Novo (MS) and based in Acre where she received the title of Acre Citizen in 2023, Mailza is a pedagogue with an MBA in public policy. His rise to the top of the Executive is not the result of chance, but the result of a trajectory that combines the technical base in municipal management with the political weight of the Federal Senate.

The Strength of Care and the Experience in Brasília
During her term as senator (2019-2022), Mailza was a key player in regional development, allocating more than R$570 million in amendments for the 22 municipalities in Acre. Its resources financed everything from the construction of Basic Health Units (UBS) to the revitalization of iconic cultural spaces, such as Palácio Rio Branco and Teatro Plácido de Castro.

At the state level, her role as vice-governor and secretary of Social Assistance and Human Rights consolidated her image as a “manager of social causes”. Programs like Together for Acre e Blue Minds they became showcases of their sensitivity in combating poverty and including vulnerable populations.

Upon taking office, Mailza reinforces that the watchword is continuity. “I feel committed to representing so many women and working sensitively, looking at those who need it most,” said the governor.
