Former Russian handball player Eduard Kokšarov died at the age of 50. The Olympic winner and world champion was found dead in a hotel room during a training camp in Brest, Belarus. The sport.cz portal informed about it.
Kokšarov played 226 games for the Russian national team, scoring 1,100 goals. He was considered one of the best wingers in the world. In his collection, he had gold Olympic medals from the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 1997 WC. In 2007, he led the Slovenian club RK Celje to triumph in the Champions League. After the end of his playing career, Kokšarov embarked on a coaching career.
