Trump says the US has oil from Venezuela and doesn’t need Hormuz

During an address to the nation, the president pressured other countries to take control of the strait or buy oil from the US

US President Trump (Republican Party) said again this Wednesday (April 1, 2026) that he does not need to import barrels of oil flowed through the Strait of Hormuz, in the Middle East. According to the president, the country can meet the need with nationally produced oil, in addition to receiving ships from Venezuela.

“Under my leadership, we are the largest oil and gas producer on the planet, not even to mention the millions of barrels we get from Venezuela. Thanks to the Trump administration’s policies, we produce more oil and gas in Saudi Arabia and Russia combined”he declared during a televised address to the American nation.

At the beginning of his speech, Trump thanked the military who helped capture the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro (PSUV, left), on January 3. With his arrest, Washington began to get closer to the country’s interim president, (MSV, left).

This Wednesday, Delcy’s name was removed from the sanctions list of the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. On other occasions, Trump praised his collaboration with the interim president, especially in sending barrels of Venezuelan oil to the country.

Pressure for control of Hormuz

During his speech, the Republican said that countries dependent on the oil flowed through the Strait of Hormuz should take control of the canal from Iran. The president also suggested purchasing the commodity produced in the USA.

“Take courage, even if it’s delayed – you should have done it sooner, you should have done it with us as we advanced into the Strait, and just take it. Protect it, use it for yourselves. Iran has essentially been decimated. The hard part is over, so it should be easy.”said Trump.

TRUMP’S SPEECH TO THE NATION

The president said he will intensify military attacks on Iran over the next 3 weeks. During a speech to the nation, the president stated that the North American mission in the Middle East is “almost complete”.

“We are going to hit them very hard in the next 2 to 3 weeks. We are going to bring them back to the Stone Age where they came from”declared Trump.

According to him, the United States had no objective of promoting regime change in the Persian country, but this happened with the death of the supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and other Iranian authorities.
