Ukrainian drones hit a Russian refinery in Ufa. A fire broke out in the industrial zone

Ukrainian drones hit an oil refinery in Ufa, Russia, causing a fire in the industrial zone. Kiev, together with its allies, targets the Russian energy sector.

On Thursday night, Ukraine launched a drone attack on an oil refinery in the Russian city of Ufa in the Bashkir Republic. Debris from one of the drones caused a fire in an industrial area, local authorities said. TASR writes about it based on reports from Reuters and DPA.

Another drone hit a residential building, but no one was injured in the attacks, the leader of Bashkortostan, Radij Khabirov, said on the Telegram social network. Thick smoke rises from several parts of the city. The Republic of Bashkortostan is located approximately 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine near the border with Kazakhstan.

Russian attacks in the southeast

In the meantime, at least one person was killed in the city of Synelnykov in the Dnepropetrovsk region during Russian attacks in the southeast of Ukraine, said the local governor, Oleksandr Hanža. A 12-year-old child and a 42-year-old woman were also injured.

The Ukrainian Air Force announced that Russia attacked with 172 drones during the night. At least 22 of them hit their targets.

Goals in Russian industry

Ukraine, with the support of Western countries, has been resisting a large-scale Russian invasion for more than four years. As part of the defense, it is also attacking targets in Russia, focusing mainly on the oil industry in order to weaken Russian war financing and disrupt the military’s fuel supply.
