The United States embassy in Iraq warned this Thursday (2) that terrorist militias aligned with Iran could carry out attacks in central Baghdad in the next 24 to 48 hours, reiterating its call for Americans to leave the country.
The American embassy stated, through a post on
“They may target American citizens, businesses, universities, diplomatic facilities, energy infrastructure, hotels, airports and other locations considered associated with the United States, as well as Iraqi institutions and civilian targets. Terrorist militias have been kidnapping Americans,” the post said. “American citizens must leave Iraq immediately.”
The American journalist in the capital on Tuesday (31), in Baghdad. The US government is working to secure his release.
The US embassy in Iraq has repeatedly warned American citizens that since the conflict with Iran began in late February.
