A 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit Afghanistan on Friday (April 3, 2026). According to deputy government spokesman Hamdullah Fitrat, 12 people died and 4 were injured.
According to , the United States Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 186.4 km and was located 35 km south of the Jorm district, in northern Afghanistan.
The tremor was felt in several locations. Among them is the capital Kabul.
In X this Saturday (April 4), Fitrat said that 5 houses were completely destroyed and 33 were damaged. A total of 40 families were affected in Kabul, Panjshir, Logar, Nangarhar, Laghman and Nuristan provinces.
