Former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro stated this Sunday that former president Jair Bolsonaro has had no hiccups for six days and is showing progress in his health. The statement was made on social media and contrasts with the son’s recent report, which had described a more delicate situation.
According to Michelle, Bolsonaro returned to physiotherapy sessions. In a post on Instagram, she celebrated her clinical improvement, referring to her husband as “Galician” and thanking God for the progress.
Divergent reports on health status
The assessment differs from that presented by Carlos Bolsonaro on Wednesday (1st). After visiting his father, the councilor stated that the former president faced continuous bouts of hiccups and pointed out a worsening of his general condition, citing comorbidities and restrictions imposed by the judicial situation.
Sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison for attempting a coup d’état after the 2022 elections, Bolsonaro is serving his sentence in temporary home care. The court authorized the transfer of the Papuda complex to his home for 90 days, after the former president spent ten days in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the end of March.
