The police are investigating a tragic traffic accident that happened on the night of Sunday (April 5) to Monday near the village of Jablonica in the Senica district. The accident claimed the lives of a 16-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man. Three other people were injured. The Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Trnava reported about it on the social network.
According to preliminary information, the 18-year-old car driver probably did not adjust the driving speed. In a left turn, he went off the road to the right, where he crashed into trees. As a result of the impact, the vehicle caught fire. Four other people aged 16, 16, 17 and 22 were riding in the vehicle, three of them girls. Three injured persons were transported to the hospital by paramedics.
Both the driver’s breathalyzer and orientation test for drugs were negative. “Given the seriousness of the incident, the case was taken over by the Senice investigator, who initiated criminal prosecution in the case for the offense of manslaughter and bodily harm,” they clarified from the police.
The exact causes and circumstances of the accident will be subject to further investigation. At the same time, the police appeal to young and less experienced drivers not to underestimate the situation when driving and not to put themselves or fellow passengers at risk.
