At least 17 dead in Iran after new attacks by the US and Israel
At least 17 people died this Monday in Iran after a new series of joint bombings by the United States and Israel, in an offensive that reached different parts of the Persian country, according to news agencies linked to the Iranian Government.
Thirteen of the victims died in a bombing on two homes in the city of Ghal’eh Mir, in the Baharestan district and, according to the governor of the region, the authorities continue the “search to rescue people who could be trapped under the rubble,” according to Fars.
The Mehr agency reports on an attack on residential areas in eastern Tehran that caused four deaths and seven injuries, after the bombs left “three homes completely destroyed and another 50 buildings with serious damage.” The offensive also affected Sharif University, where the destruction of energy facilities paralyzed the electrical grid in the northeast of the capital, according to Fars.
In parallel, reports from the Tasnim agency documented damage to the university mosque, with images showing collapsed ceilings and broken glass inside the religious premises. (Efe)
