Anyone traveling on the central Golan, about 16 kilometers east of the Sea of Galilee, can easily walk past it without even noticing it: the piled basalt stones of the strange Rujm el-Hiri complex barely protrude above the rugged plateau. Since its discovery in 1968, the structure has puzzled experts.
