Concessionaire Inframerica, current administrator of Brasília International Airport, stated that it remains positive about the outcome of the session that will define which company or group will be responsible for managing the airport under the new concession contract. The new tender will be held in 2026.
The Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) approved on Wednesday, April 1st, the renegotiation of the terminal management contract with regard to the payment for granting the asset. The calculation that defines what the concessionaire needs to pay the Union for managing the terminal will change from fixed to variable – based on when the terminal generates profit per year.
“The concessionaire remains positive regarding the final result of this process. We emphasize that the approval does not imply any change for passengers, airlines or other users of the Airport”, he stated to BroadcastGrupo Estado’s real-time news system.
The consortium, made up of Argentina’s Corporación America Airports and Infraero, stated that the change in the contract is an important step towards the modernization and sustainability of the asset. The renegotiation request came from Inframerica itself, which identified the best alternative in the renegotiation to ensure the continuity of administration of the Brasilia air terminal.
The request was presented to the Court by the Ministry of Ports and Airports in July 2025. Inframerica began to present negative operational results, following the context of the economic crisis from 2014 to 2016, as well as the Covid-19 pandemic scenario. According to the company, there was no prospect of financial sustainability until the end of the contract, under the current contract conditions.
The new airport auctions have followed the variable grant model proposed by the TCU for Brasília Airport since 2019, according to the topic’s rapporteur, minister Antonio Anastasia. In other words, according to this argument, there will be alignment with the most recent practices.

The agreement to renegotiate the terminal concession contract includes the administration of ten regional airports in the AmpliAR program in the concession contract of the group that wins the competitive session, as well as determining the withdrawal of Infraero from the contract.
The publication of the notice of the competitive procedure will be preceded by a public consultation conducted by the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac).
