If Caiado has 15% of the votes ‘that’s great’, says Kassab – 04/07/2026 – Politics

The national president of , , stated this Tuesday (7) that if the candidacy of the former governor of Goiás reaches 15% of voting intentions, “that’s great”. The statement was made during a Bradesco BBI investment event, in São Paulo.

According to Kassab, there is a polarization between PT and Bolsonarism, which is not consolidated. For him, supporting Caiado is an alternative that he believes will work.

“I think it’s very important to have this alternative, even if it were to lose. Brazilians need to show that there is another way,” he said.

Kassab stated that, even if Caiado does not reach the second round, having 15% of the votes is hope. “That’s 15% that we’re going to call someone and say: ‘we’re going to support because we want this and that’.”

The PSD leader highlighted that both Luiz Inácio da Silva () and () have rejections above 40%. “Lula’s vote is not consolidated. Of the 40% or so he has, half is fluid. It’s the same with Flávio”, he assessed.

Caiado was confirmed as the party’s pre-candidate last week. At the time, he promised to grant a pardon to Jair Bolsonaro (PL), but criticized Flávio, questioning his experience in governing the country.

In the PSD presidential candidate, he scored 4% of voting intentions in a scenario with Lula, who appeared with 39%, and Flávio, who had 33%.
