The mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), says that the first lady Regina Nunes, also affiliated with the MDB, should hit the nail on the head by June about being a candidate, for the first time, in this year’s elections.
Nunes says that the tendency is for his wife to run for a seat in Alesp (São Paulo Legislative Assembly), but he does not rule out the possibility of Regina fighting for the position of federal deputy.
The candidacy should be made official during the party convention in São Paulo, probably in July.
Regina has left emedebista leaders excited and is seen as a popular candidate for activism in the animal cause.
