Bucharest – Mircea Lucescu died a few days after resigning as Romania’s football team boss. This was announced on Tuesday by the University Hospital in Bucharest, where the 80-year-old was treated. It was only at the end of March that Lucescu was on the sidelines for Romania in the European World Cup play-offs. In the 0-1 defeat against Turkey, he became the oldest team boss in history, replacing the German Otto Pfister.
