The legal director of the (National Council for Advertising Self-Regulation), stated, this Wednesday (April 8, 2026), that 18% of representations opened by the body in 2025 involved betting advertising. The statement was given in an interview with Poder360 during the BiS SiGMA South America 2026an iGaming, bettech and sports betting event held in São Paulo from April 6th to 9th.
“In 2025, Conar established 302 representations. Of these, 18% refer to betting advertising”, declared.
He stated that the body works to monitor advertising campaigns and apply the Brazilian Advertising Self-Regulation Code, which establishes principles such as clear identification of advertising, veracity of information and protection of children and adolescents.
Ferreira also highlighted that Conar created a specific set of rules for the sector, known as Annex X, aimed at responsible disclosure of betting.
According to the legal director, most of the cases judged by the council result in the suspension of advertising, that is, the removal of the advertisement considered irregular.
