The CPI on Organized Crime of the Senate hears this Wednesday (April 8, 2026), at 10 am, the president of the Central Bank, Gabriel Galípolo. He was guest to provide clarifications to the committee — in other words, their presence is optional, unlike a summons, which is mandatory.
Galípolo must speak about the Central Bank’s role in the case of Banco Master and about a meeting held in 2024 at Palácio do Planalto in which businessman Daniel Vorcaro participated.
Former president of the Central Bank Roberto Campos Neto informed senators that he will not participate in the CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) on Organized Crime into the Banco Master case. Campos Neto would speak to congressmen as a witness to explain the Central Bank’s role in the case, which could culminate in a possible agreement that has repercussions on the Three Powers.
The committee is chaired by Senator Davi Alcolumbrewhich rejected the request to extend the work on the grounds that 2026 is an election year. As a result, the CPI must conclude the investigations with a report scheduled for April 14.
Galípolo’s hearing takes place in the final phase of the commission, in the midst of consolidating the conclusions that must be included in the final opinion.
