Vladimir Putin decreed this Thursday a ceasefire in Ukraine for this Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th on the occasion of the Orthodox holiday of Easter.
The truce will start at 16:00 on Saturday and will conclude in the midnight on Sunday the 12th with Monday the 13thas the Kremlin has indicated as a preview.
The statement adds that “we assume that the Ukrainian side will follow the example of the Russian Federation,” although it clarifies that “the troops must be prepared to counter any possible provocation by the enemy, as well as any aggressive action.
At the moment Ukraine has not expressed itselfalthough recently Volodimir Zelensky called for a similar ceasefire of several days.
