His early departure from the presidency of the (Superior Electoral Court) took even members of the court by surprise. Some ministers, in fact, did not know that Cármen would leave his position ahead of schedule.
The change in presidency would only be in June, but this Thursday (9), Cármen announced that the symbolic election to choose him will be on the 14th. The inauguration will be in May.
Members of the court told the Panel, under reservation, that they learned of the minister’s decision minutes before the official statement.
the president of the TSE stated that the measure is to guarantee “balance and tranquility in the handover of duties”.
“I decided that, instead of leaving it until the last day, the succession of this court begins earlier, with the procedures for electing new leaders and the transition process,” said the minister.
Even so, the atmosphere in the court is one of perplexity. Some report that they were shocked by the decision, even though it was just two months before the originally scheduled date.
