Senator and pre-candidate for the Presidency, Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), said on Thursday (9) that Senator Tereza Cristina (PP-MS) is “a dream” to be part of this year’s election.
“Tereza is everyone’s dream. I’m a fan of hers, but the question of being vice-president is just down the line”, he explained during a conversation with journalists in Campo Grande, in Mato Grosso do Sul. “I even joked with her, I call her Little Voice, because she is very similar to my grandmother, it’s apparently an affectionate way of calling someone I respect a lot”, he concluded.
Flávio’s statement took place during the 86th Expogrande, one of the largest agricultural fairs in the country. In the conversation, the PL pre-candidate also listed Tereza as one of the main references in agriculture in Brazil.
“Tereza is one of the biggest references in the world in Brazilian agriculture. We had the privilege of having her as minister in the Bolsonaro government and, going forward, we will think calmly. There is no way to anticipate anything now, but I am happy to have her among the possibilities”, he stated.
Tereza denies interest
On Wednesday (8), Tereza denied the possibility of being a vice candidate on a right-wing ticket in this year’s elections. To the column of Estadãothe parliamentarian stressed that the dispute “does not fit into the projects”.
The senator is seen as preferred by Centrão, which prefers a more “moderate” name for the dispute. The preference for a female vice president had also been commented on by Flávio, who seeks to impact the female public with the choice.

The statement made this week, however, is a slight retreat in relation to its stance in March on the topic. On March 27, during an interview with Lookthe senator said that she feels “honored” to be considered to run in the elections on Flávio’s ticket, but that the decision will not be up to her.
“I feel honored by this. But I can also be a candidate for president as a woman, why not? I feel prepared. But that doesn’t depend on my will. Being vice-president is not my ultimate dream. Everyone says ‘ah, if you had been vice-president in 2022, Bolsonaro would have won the election’, but they never talked to me about this possibility”, Tereza Cristina told the outlet.
