The Civil Guard has reported that of a minor this Thursday in a cultural center in Villanueva de la Cañada (Madrid). The boy was stabbed several times while he was in these facilities and, although the health services managed to recover him from cardiorespiratory arrest, he finally died in the hospital. This Friday a minute of silence has been called in the Madrid municipality.
The 112 emergency service was notified of the event in a call around 7:45 p.m. this Thursday. When the emergency teams arrived at the La Despernada cultural center, the minor, 13 years old, was in cardiorespiratory arrest due to injuries to the chest, neck and back.
The health workers managed to reverse the arrest, stabilize him and transfer him with a critical prognosis by helicopter to the 12 de Octubre Hospital in Madrid, where he finally died. One of the hypotheses is that the attacker is a person with mental problems of about 22 years old who was recognized by several witnesses at the time of the events.
Judicial police and citizen security agents from the Civil Guard are working on the investigation of the event.
The Villanueva de la Cañada City Council has published a statement in which it conveys its “deepest condolences” to the family of the minor who died in the “unfortunate event” that occurred in the municipality. “In these moments of enormous pain, we want to send you our closeness and commitment for everything you need,” he continues.
“Likewise, the City Council expresses its absolute dismay at such serious events,” he says. The council indicates that “from the first moment”, it is collaborating closely with the competent authorities “to clarify what happened and guarantee that all necessary measures are adopted.”
