US delegation led by JD Vance arrives in Islamabad to negotiate with Iran
The United States delegation led by Vice President JD Vance landed this Saturday at the Nur Khan air base, on the outskirts of Islamabad, to begin direct talks with the Iranian delegation in order to agree on a roadmap to end the war.
“The US delegation, led by Vice President JD Vance, has already been in Islamabad. The delegation landed a few moments ago at the Nur Khan air base in separate planes,” a security source reported on condition of anonymity.
Vance traveled accompanied by special envoy Steve Witkoff and advisor Jared Kushner, son-in-law of Donald Trump, hours after the Iranian delegation, led by the president of Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, also arrived in the Pakistani capital.
According to the images released, Vance was received by the Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, before being transferred to the so-called “Red Zone” of the capital, the administrative area where the negotiations took place under strict military surveillance. (Efe)
