O Brazil began its participation in the FIFA Series with victory. At Arena Pantanal, in Cuiabá, the Brazilian team beat South Korea 5-1on Saturday night (11), with goals from Ary Borges, Ludmila, Dudinha Rodrigues, Kerolin and Tainá Maranhão. Park Soo-jeong took it out on the Asian girls.
The Brazilian team had more of the ball from the start and spent most of the first half in the attacking field. The best chances came from balls raised in the area and mid-range shots, but the goal took a while to come. At 42, Ary Borges scored inside the area and finished; the ball deflected off the mark before entering.
The second half started with Brazil expanding. With less than a minute, Kerolin made a move on the left and crossed low to Ludmila, who appeared free at the second post to score the second. From then on, the game became more open.
At 12, Dudinha Rodrigues scored the third after a play on the right. Shortly after, at 15, Kerolin received the ball deep, went through the marking and scored the fourth. Brazil continued to create chances and even hit the crossbar in one of their attempts.
The fifth goal came at 37with Tainá Maranhão, who received the ball inside the area and finished with no chance of defense. In the final minutes, South Korea took advantage of a mistake in the ball and reduced it with Park Soo-jeong.
Brazil returns to the field on Tuesday (14), again at Arena Pantanal, to face Zambia. South Korea faces Canada.
