Maroš Kramár also imposed STVR on the entire government… Politician Gyimesi’s immediate reaction: A sharp message to the actor!

The Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) announced on Thursday in Bratislava the winners of the national film award Sun in the Network for the year 2025. He took care of one of the most striking moments actor Maroš Kramár, who was the last to present the best film in the category he gave an extremely open speech.

In the introduction highlighted personalities who represent Slovakia – in addition to athletes and scientists, according to him, internationally awarded films also make the country a good name in the world. He did not hide his indignation at the fact that TV STVR decided for the second time not to include the awarding of the national film awards Slnko v sieto in its broadcast. Viewers thus had the opportunity to watch the live broadcast only through the YouTube platform.

He then turned his attention to the management headed by director Martina Flašíková and government officials. “I think that’s a great shame. I don’t know about you, but I think that they should be ashamed. Not only in our television, but also those above them. I mean the Ministry of Culture and I mean our entire government outfit… Enough is enough, Fica.” he said forcefully, making it obvious that he won’t be appearing on public television screens anytime soon.

He responded to his public speech on the social network Facebook former member of parliament and adviser to the Minister of the Environment György Gyimesi. “An actor has the gift of telling stories. A politician should be responsible for reality. The problem arises when someone confuses these two roles and starts thinking that success on stage automatically means an understanding of the world outside.” criticized the artist’s statement.

According to the politician, it is necessary to make a strict distinction between artistic performance and political decision-making. “Art is about emotions, about interpretation, about the power to convince the viewer. Politics is about facts, consequences and decisions that affect people’s lives. While a good performance and a strong story are enough on stage, in the harsh political reality a convincing speech is not enough. There, mistakes cannot be corrected by editing, or played again and better.” he noted.

Gyimesi then assessed the growing trend of social involvement of famous faces. “Recently, there have been more voices that sound confident, but often lack humility on the one hand, to the complexity of the topics on which they express themselves and, at the same time, humility towards people with an opposite opinion. Popularity from the screen or from social networks is exchanged for expertise, applause for approval and viewership for a mandate to fight politically at all times and under all circumstances.” he emphasized.

At the same time, he added that although everyone has the right to an opinion, the key is its depth. “Of course, there’s nothing wrong with a public figure having an opinion. We all have them. But the difference is whether that opinion brings value, or just another ballast. Whether it is based on understanding or just a sense of self-importance,” added the politician.
