O senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, used images of his father’s governmentformer president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), to criticize the Lula government (PT) on his X profile, on Sunday (12). The publication caused reaction from government members.

In the video, Flávio mentions the family debt and defines the situation as a “serious crisis”. “This means eating less, it means an empty pan. And almost 20% of these Brazilians are not even able to pay their water bill”, he states, while the background image shows 2021 scenesin which people collect food from a garbage truck in Fortaleza (CE). At the time, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the material was published by the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper in a report on the spread of hunger in the country.

In reaction to the content, the minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, Guilherme Boulos, stated that the images correspond to the period of the Jair Bolsonaro’s management. “So, Flávio Bolsonaro, are you going to recant?” he asked on X. The video is still published on the senator’s profile.

The former minister of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations and pre-candidate for the Senate from Paraná, Gleisi Hoffmann (PT-PR), called Flávio Bolsonaro’s publication a “micão”. “Bone row? Only if it’s in the Bolsonaro government. Who needs an enemy with a son like that, huh?”, he wrote on Instagram.
