Former leader of Juventude Leonina sentenced to 6 and a half years in prison for leading a neo-Nazi cell in Brazil

The case involves several charges, including racial discrimination and criminal association. Miguel D’Almada was part of the founding nucleus of the neo-Nazi group 1143.

Miguel D’Almada, the name he is known in the sporting world, is 51 years old and was sentenced in Brazil to six and a half years in prison for being part of a neo-Nazi cell in the state of Santa Catarina.

He was arrested in 2022, during a police operation, at a meeting of members of the organization. Brazilian justice identified him as one of the leaders of “Southlands Hammerskins”responsible for dissemination of racist content and hateful ideologies.

The same group included elements with backgrounds such as violent crimes, including attempted murders against black people and Jews. In Portugal, Miguel D’Almada was well known in the half ultra linked to Sporting.

He was leader of Leonine Youth and is named as the author of the song’s lyrics “The World Knows That”which precedes each game in Alvalade. Miguel D’Almada must serve his sentence in Brazil.
