Ukraine and Russia resume drone attacks after Easter ceasefire

After 32 hours of Easter truce, Ukraine and Russia are returning to intensive drone attacks. Both sides report thousands of violations of the agreement.

Ukraine and Russia resumed drone attacks on Monday after a 32-hour ceasefire on the occasion of Orthodox Easter expired. TASR informs about it based on the AFP report.

Ukraine’s air force said Russia launched 98 drones and its air defense units shot down 87 of them. Moscow reported that “on April 13, air defense units intercepted and destroyed 33 Ukrainian drones.”

Easter truce

The Easter ceasefire in the fighting between Russia and Ukraine began on Saturday, April 11 at 4:00 p.m. Moscow time (3:00 p.m. CEST) and expired at midnight on April 12 (11:00 p.m. CEST). During its tenure, both sides accused each other of attacks.

Ukraine’s military said Sunday night it had recorded nearly 7,700 ceasefire violations, and Russia reported nearly 2,000 incidents.
