The now former president of Gilberto Waller Junior, dismissed this Monday (13), says that the Ministry of Social Security should be held responsible for the size of the body’s current list of beneficiaries.
“If it’s the queue, whoever would have wanted to be exonerated was not anyone from the INSS. The majority of those who wait for more than 45 days depend on medical expertise, which is the responsibility of the ministry”, he told the Panel.
The speech is a response to the Ministry of Health, which will “accelerate the analysis of benefits”.
Waller disagrees and claims that the queue of people who have been waiting more than 45 days for a benefit has almost cleared.
According to INSS data, most people in this situation still depend on medical expertise, which is the responsibility of the ministry. There are more than 821 thousand people.

Now outside the organization, Waller took stock of the management, saying that he had reduced the queue since he arrived and that he had “cleaned up” the organization amid the fraud.
“I’m calm, I leave with a clear conscience. Today, the queue is shorter than when I took over, in April 2025, even with an increase in requests per month. And I leave the agency without problems in the system”, he told the Panel.
Waller said that the agency broke an all-time record for concessions in a single month, with 890,000 benefits in March.
Furthermore, in the same month, analyzes of 1.6 million benefits were completed.
Waller was informed of his resignation by the executive secretary of the Ministry of Social Security, Felipe Cavalcante.
Neither the minister (PDT-PE) nor President Lula contacted him. Only the attorney general of the Union, who appointed him last year.
In a statement, the Ministry of Social Security stated that the reduction in the queue in March is a reflection of the work being done by the department and cited actions such as joint efforts, the hiring of 500 experts, telemedicine expertise and the new Atestmed.
