Raphael Sousa Oliveira, creator of Instagram, was arrested this Wednesday (April 15, 2026), in Goiânia. The arrest was carried out during the investigation, which investigates the activities of a criminal organization suspected of moving more than R$1.6 billion in illegal operations. The singers were also arrested in the action.
The operation mobilized more than 200 federal police officers. In total, 45 search and seizure warrants and 39 temporary arrest warrants were executed in 9 states and the Federal District, including São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Goiás.
According to investigations, the group used a structured system to hide and conceal resources. The practices included high-value financial transactions, transporting cash and using cryptoactives to make tracking difficult.
During the operation, agents seized vehicles, cash, documents and electronic equipment. Those investigated may be charged with criminal association, money laundering and currency evasion.
Raphael Sousa Oliveira’s defense stated that he was giving a statement at the PF headquarters in Goiânia. Lawyer Frederico Moreira declared that he should speak out this Wednesday (April 15). The specific role of the owner of Choquei in the scheme has not yet been detailed by the authorities.
