The Sun and Chiron team up in Aries: On April 16, the "Great Healing" begins. Learn why forgiveness is the only way to get rid of the burden of the past

It’s the last time the Sun meets Chiron in Aries, the first sign of the zodiac—a time when questions of identity and purpose can no longer be avoided. Now or never.

The Sun-Chiron conjunction is also part of a larger stellium in Aries. On April 17th we have a New Moon in Aries conjunct Chiron co-present with Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Neptune – no less than 7 planets in Aries.

And Chiron, conjunct the luminaries in this configuration, holds the key to the deeper processes going on now.

Sun conjunct Chiron is the instinct of the human spirit to leave something immaterial behind. Our spirit seeking to manifest is our “gift to the world.”

The sun is our individuality, what makes us unique, our mission in this life.

Chiron orbits between Saturn and Uranus and is the bridge between the visible (Saturn) and the invisible (Uranus), between the material and the eternal.

So what happens when the Sun is conjunct Chiron?

Sun conjunct Chiron is the powerful urge to take our individual essence – the Sun – and unite it with something greater.

Your greatest gift

Once upon a time there was a prince who wanted to stay forever young. When no one at court could show him how, he set out into the world in search of the realm where life is eternal.

Before leaving, he went to his father’s stables to choose a horse for the journey. He searched for days and nights, but no horse seemed strong enough for what awaited him.

Finally, when the prince had given up all hope, he noticed a weak, sickly-looking horse, hungry and covered in sores. As he approached, the horse began to speak:

“If you wish to fulfill your wish, you must ask your father for the sword, the spear, the bow, the arrows, and the garments he wore in his youth. And you must take care of me and feed me with your own hands for six weeks, giving me oats boiled in milk.”

Thus, feeding the hungry horse, wearing his father’s clothes, and feeding the desire to reach “beyond” became the essential resources that would bring the prince eternal life.

Father’s clothes represent our genetic heritage (Chiron). We can only fulfill our mission when we build on the foundation of who we are and where we come from.
