Vienna – With effect from June 1st, the previous standard salaries for journalists working for Austrian daily and weekly newspapers will increase by 2.7 percent. The Association of Austrian Newspapers (VÖZ) and the GPA union have reached a corresponding agreement. The sum of all previous quinquennial amounts and the sum of all flat rates will also be increased by this percentage, it said in a broadcast on Thursday.
