“We will have the Presiq Special Sustainability Program for the Chemical Industry in the next five years, which will be regulated in the coming days,” said Alckmin.
According to him, Presiq involves an amount of R$15 billion, of which R$3 billion per year in tax credits for inputs and to improve the competitiveness of the chemical industry and investment.
Alckmin took the opportunity to once again highlight the expansion of the Special Regime for the Chemical Industry (Reiq) with the release of R$3.1 billion to help the petrochemical sector and encourage new investments.
“President Lula and we, as minister of industry, carried out the tariff adjustment, activated trade defense to combat dumping and the Reiq this year will have R$3.1 billion, R$2 billion for credit for inputs and R$1.1 billion for investment”, stated Alckmin.
He also said that the federal government is working to improve the cost of natural gas together with Petrobras. “We are increasing natural gas production in Brazil, but we need to better address the regulatory issue,” said the acting president.
