Flamengo’s medical department brought good news to the red and black fans after the scare in the 2-0 victory over Bahia.
Lucas Paquetá, who left the Maracanã pitch complaining of knee pain, underwent imaging tests on Sunday night and had a less serious diagnosis than expected.
According to the club’s official statement, the number 20 has edema in the tendon of his left thigh, ruling out any ligament or structural injury to the knee.
With the diagnosis in hand, the midfielder is expected to remain recovering for a period of seven to ten days.
In the meantime, Lucas Paquetá will be absent for the debut against Vitória, this Wednesday (22), and also for the duel against , valid for the Brazilian Championship.
The technical committee’s planning projects the athlete’s return for the decisive clash against Estudiantes, in the Libertadores, on April 29th, or for the classic against Vasco, scheduled for May 3rd.
The absence occurs at a time of rise for the team, which boasts a streak of five consecutive victories this season.
Currently, they are in second place in the Brasileirão with 23 points, maintaining the hunt for , who have six more points and an extra match in the table.
Without its main coordinator for the next commitments, Rubro-Negro now focuses on the eliminatory duel against Vitória, which takes place at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), again at Maracanã.
