Minister says that former governor of Minas used deepfake to “vilify the honor” of the STF; case was sent for analysis by the PGR
The minister sent the minister, both from , a criminal report against the former governor of Minas Gerais, (Novo), so that he can be investigated in the fake news investigation. The case remains confidential.
Moraes has already referred the case to the PGR (Attorney General’s Office). The crime news (reporting the occurrence of a criminal act to the competent authority) refers to, published on Zema’s social networks when he was still governor. The play uses puppets that represent the ministers and Gilmar Mendes.
In the document, Gilmar stated that the former governor had treated him with disdain “not just honor and image” of the STF, but also his own honor. The video satirizes the decision of Gilmar Mendes who, on February 27, annulled the decision of the CPI (Parliamentary Inquiry Commission) on Organized Crime that had determined the breach of banking, tax and telematic secrecy of the company Maridth Participações, linked to the Toffoli family.

The minister cites the use of and “sophisticated professional editing” to simulate the voices of ministers and a dialogue “which, in addition to being non-existent, has the clear intention of violating the health of this institution of the Republic”, in reference to the STF. Gilmar also says that the video is aimed at the former governor’s personal promotion.
Zema has done a Gilmar Mendes. On Tuesday (April 14, 2026), the former governor said he would not back down from criticism. In the video that accompanies the post, he quotes ministers Alexandre de Moraes and Dias Toffoli, stating that both “they deserve prison”in addition to possible impeachment.
On Thursday (April 16, 2026), he shared another video with the caption: “When you go to the Supreme Court, always remember to ask the judge if he is making a decision based on the Constitution or if he is doing you a favor.”

The videos published on the former governor’s X and Instagram profiles mock the events of the Banco Master case.
The 1st episode, published on February 23, is represented by minister Alexandre de Moraes and the president (PT). The caption accompanying the publication says: “What if there was a series about Brazil’s untouchables? The 1st episode would be something like this…”
