Lula: Brazil is tired of being treated like a third world

During the opening speech of the Brazilian stand at the Hannover Industrial Fairthis Monday (20), the president Lula spoke about his desire to transform Brazil into a world power with a rich economy.

“We are talking about a country that is tired of being small, of being on the path to development. A country that is tired of being treated as a third world country. A country that is tired of being treated as invisible. We are a great nation, we have 215 million inhabitants, we have a reasonably stable economy and we have gained a lot of credibility in recent years”, he declared.

The president said that Brazil is participating in the Hannover fair to learn the latest developments in global industry, the technological capacity of the Germans and to show what Brazilians are developing.

“We are tired of being treated like a poor and small country. We have a good intellectual and technological base, we have extraordinary companies such as Petrobras and Embraer, the third largest aircraft producer in the world, and the ability to share it with Germany”, he declared.

Lula also took the opportunity to talk about immigration and remember that Brazil’s doors are open to those who, like him, defend .

“We, Brazilians, have a lot to offer in terms of investment opportunities, the sharing of business activities between our universities, the exchange of scientific and technological experiences, so that we can progress and grow together.”
