Action in the Vidigal community aims to dismantle leaders and capture a group of fugitives from Eunápolis prison; a man was also detained with a rifle
An operation launched this Monday (20) left several people isolated in Morro Dois Irmãos, in Rio de Janeiro, after a intense shooting in the Vidigal community. The action arrested the financial operator of a criminal faction of southern Bahia and was carried out jointly by the Public Ministry of Bahia (MPBA), the Public Security Secretariat of Bahia (SSP-BA) and the civil police of Bahia and Rio de Janeiro.
The arrested woman, identified as Núbia Santos Oliveira, is identified as the responsible for finances of the group First Command of Eunápolis (PCE). She is wife of one of the faction leaders and is being investigated for the crime of money launderingin addition to having two outstanding arrest warrants for drug trafficking e murder. During the same operation, a man was arrested in the act carrying a rifle. Weapons and drugs were seized at the scene.
The police action is part of an investigation that aims to locate e arrest 13 inmates who escaped from the Eunápolis Penal Complex in December 2024.
According to the police, the fugitives are sheltered in Rio de Janeiro e maintain control of illicit activities in the south of Bahia in the distance.
