The duo Matheus & Kauan spoke about the emotion of singing at the Festa do Peão de Barretosconsidered the largest rodeo in Latin America, and the importance of the event for the country music.
HAS CNN BrazilKauan said that: “it’s everyone’s dream to step on that stage. The first time we sang there, it was one of the moments of our career, of our lives. Barretos carries a whole story in the shows that take place, so we were very happy and honored to be able to participate in this party”.
“There is no artist in the world who doesn’t shake their legs before going on stage in Barretos”, Matheus added, remembering that the project for the Parque do Peão Rodeo Stadium — which accommodates 35,000 seated spectators — was designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer, which, for him, contributes to the grandeur of the event.
And he concluded: “We will be in Barretos this year to tell our story and we are very happy to be a small grain of sand in this whole story.”
The 2026 Barretos Peão Festival takes place between the 20th and 30th of August in the interior of São Paulo.
In addition to Matheus & Kauan, the line-up includes attractions such as Fernando & Sorocaba, Ana Castela, João Neto & Frederico, Natanzinho Lima, Henrique & Diego, Belo, among others.
The edition’s Ambassador, singer Gusttavo Lima, will perform on two days of the festival. He holds the position for the third time, after having represented the party in 2017 and 2018.
Tickets range from R$558 to R$75, including access to Parque do Peão, rodeo competition and shows. Another modality includes burning garlic — a typical culinary tradition of the tropeiros.
