First incident since ceasefire: Rockets and drones aimed at northern Israel, Hezbollah says retaliation

The militant group Hezbollah announced on Tuesday evening that it had attacked northern Israel in response to alleged ceasefire violations. This is the first incident since the ceasefire took effect on April 16writes TASR according to an AFP report.

According to the announcement, Hezbollah fighters attacked Israeli artillery positions near the border village of Kfar Giladi with a salvo of rockets and drones. The movement emphasized that it was attacking in response to violations of the ceasefire by Israel, of which it is said to have recorded more than 200 since it came into force.

The Israeli army previously accused Hezbollah of “firing several rockets” towards her troops in southern Lebanon. Israel is said to have responded to the attack with a retaliatory strike. Lebanon was drawn into the Middle East conflict on March 2 when Hezbollah attacked Israel, to avenge the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
