Kremlin on deliveries via the Družba pipeline: Slovakia can have its oil back! However, there is a catch

Russia remains ready to restore oil transit to Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzhba pipelineKremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declared on Tuesday, adding that this matter depends on Ukraine. TASR informs about it based on the report of the TASS agency.

  • Russia is technically ready to restore oil transit to Hungary and Slovakia.
  • According to Peskov, the restoration of oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline depends on Ukraine.
  • Moscow accuses the Kiev regime of blackmail and suspension of oil supplies.
  • Russia is reportedly planning to stop the flow of Kazakh oil to Germany from May.
  • The export of Kazakh oil to Germany through Druzhba in 2025 has increased significantly.

“The Russian side remains technically ready, and we have contractual obligations to Hungary. However, after the Kyiv regime started blackmailing, these supplies were suspended. Everything depends on the Kyiv regime: whether it opens the pipeline and stops blackmailing,Peskov said in response to a question about the possibility of resuming supplies to Hungary and Slovakia via the Družba pipeline.

Meanwhile, Reuters reported on Tuesday that Russia plans to stop the supply of oil from Kazakhstan to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline from May 1. Sources close to the oil industry, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Reuters that both Kazakhstan and Germany had already been informed of the adjusted oil export schedule. The Russian Ministry of Energy has not yet responded to the request for a statement. Kremlin spokesman Peskov said he was not aware of preparations to halt oil exports. “We’ll try to check it out,” he said.

Oil exports from Kazakhstan to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline will total 2.146 million metric tons in 2025, an increase of 44% compared to 2024, Reuters reported.
