Lamb Fair brings tradition and rural economy to Farelos in Alcoutim

The town of Farelos, in the parish of Giões, municipality of Alcoutim, hosts the Lamb and Pastorícia Fair on May 16th, an initiative integrated into the Agrosocial project, which aims to promote the agri-food sector and boost the local economy.

The event serves as a meeting space between producers, technicians and entities, with the aim of reinforcing the appreciation of regional products and encouraging cooperation in the sector.

Conference precedes event in Giões

The program starts on May 15th, with a thematic conference held at the facilities of the Health Defense Group (ADS) of Alcoutim, in Giões.

The meeting will bring together experts and agents from the sector, promoting “the sharing of knowledge and reflection on the future of the rural world and pastoralism”.

Fair focuses on promotion and visibility of products

On May 16th, the initiative takes place in Farelos, with a fair designed to create “concrete opportunities for visibility and market positioning for local products”.

The organization highlights the importance of promoting the exchange of contacts and the creation of partnerships, contributing to the integration of regional production into new commercial circuits.

Tradition and gastronomy highlighted

Throughout the event, visitors will be able to come into contact with traditional knowledge, through an exhibition of agri-food products and handicrafts.

Lamb plays a central role in the gastronomic aspect, asserting itself as an identity element of the region and pastoral activity.

The organization of the fair counts on the collaboration of the Associação dos Amigos dos Farelos e Clarines and with the support of the Alcoutim City Council and the Giões Parish Council.
