After the damage, the Druzhba oil pipeline is scheduled to start operating again on Wednesday afternoon. Ukraine also makes the billion loan and its negotiations with the Union conditional on this.
Ukraine will resume supplies of Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline on Wednesday afternoon. This was stated by an anonymous source from the oil sector for the Reuters agency, writes TASR.
“Oil pumping should start at lunchtime tomorrow,” a Reuters source said, adding that Hungarian oil company MOL had already submitted its first request for transit. “MOL has already submitted applications for the first volumes, which will go to Hungary and Slovakia in equal proportion,” added the source.
On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on the X social network that repairs to the damaged section of the Druzhba pipeline have been completed and its operation can be resumed. Zelenskyi connected the repair of the oil pipeline with the unblocking of the payment of the 90 billion European Union loan for Ukraine and a shift in the accession negotiations. The EU member states will try to finally approve the release of the loan on Wednesday.
