ÖVP General Secretary Nico Marchetti reacted harshly to Amnesty International Austria Managing Director Shoura Hashemi’s criticism of the deportations of criminals to Syria and Afghanistan. Hashemi is “more concerned about serious criminals than their victims,” he said in a broadcast – thereby confirming Amnesty’s finding that “established parties are adopting the rhetoric of authoritarian movements.”
