Porto Metro

Works on the ruby line of the Porto Metro; area of Gaia where the Haya Towers will be located
They will be the largest buildings in the country. They will appear in Vila Nova de Gaia, right next to the future Porto Metro line.
Vila Nova de Gaia will have the biggest towers of apartments of the country.
The project by Krest (a company from Belgium) is called Haya Towers. The “towers” are accompanied by a name that combines “high” and “Gaia”. There will be two towers with 31 and 30 floorscom 107 metros tall.
It will be a private condominium. In total, there will be 361 casas, most with one bedroom. They will have 30 T0 apartments (between 33 and 72 m2), 136 T1 houses (from 52 to 62 m2), 117 T2 apartments (78-93 m2), 66 T3 houses with areas of 119 and 138 m2, 10 T4 apartments (from 188 to 228 m2) and two T5s that will have 258 m2.
They won’t be cheap: a T0 will be close to R$ 200 thousand; T4 and T5 arrive at 1 million of euros. It will be an average of 5 thousand/6 thousand euros… per square meter. The promoter says they are “affordable, but at the top of prices in Gaia”.
The giant, authentic buildings “skyscrapers”, they will be very close to the Santa Marinha cemetery and will be practically adjacent to the future line of Porto Metroa ruby line. They will be next to the future station Rotunda.
The metro line was precisely what made the project move forward, admits Claude Kandiyoti, CEO of Krest: “We are in front of the metro station and with direct access to Porto. That’s why we acquired it. Without the new line I wouldn’t have purchased it. I bought it because of the metro station.”
In , the person responsible reveals that this is the maximum height they could build: “In Gaia, particularly, there is a tendency for the municipality to build taller, have more people and less density, fewer buildings, but taller ones. I don’t think it’s a new trend. There will never be 50-story buildings in Portugal. This is the highest we can build”, he considers.
It is an investment of 150 million euros.
The project will be presented in Lisbon, at the Portuguese Real Estate Show.
Sales will start in two months, in June, although the works should only begin in 2027.
