Attack on the Kuwaiti border: Explosive drones from Iraq hit border posts

Two drones loaded with explosives attacked Kuwaiti border posts near the border with Iraq on Friday morning. The Kuwaiti army confirmed that the machines had flown in from a neighboring state and caused material damage.

The Kuwaiti military said on Friday that drones coming from neighboring Iraq had hit border posts on the northern border, causing damage. TASR informs about it according to the report of the AFP agency.

  • Two Kuwaiti border posts were hit by explosive drones from Iraq.
  • According to the military, the drones were loaded with explosives and controlled by optical cables from Iraq.
  • Pro-Iranian armed groups repeatedly attack enemy bases in Iraq and the region.

Drones arrived from Iraq

“This morning, two northern border posts were targeted by Kuwait in a criminal act of aggression in which two drones loaded with explosives, guided by optical cables and originating from the Republic of Iraq, were used, causing material damage…but no casualties,” the army said in a post on the X social network.

Pro-Iranian armed groups have repeatedly claimed attacks on “enemy bases” in Iraq and the wider region since the start of the Middle East war. After the start of the ceasefire, the United States and Iran announced the cessation of their actions.

Iraq at war between the US, Israel and Iran

Countries in the Persian Gulf recently summoned Iraqi representatives to protest against the attacks of these groups.

Iraq, like the countries of the Persian Gulf, has been drawn into the war between the US, Israel and Iran, with repeated attacks against US interests in the country – especially the embassy in Baghdad – and pro-Iranian groups there.
