The Brazilian Federation of Hope, formed by PT, PV and PC do B, appealed to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) to request the suspension of a profile that uses artificial intelligence on social media to criticize President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
The action targets the “Dona Maria” account, which, according to the parties, has been used to spread misinformation and influence the pre-election environment.
The request was filed on Wednesday (22) and is being reported by Minister Estela Aranha. The information is from Folha de S. Paulo.
In the representation, the parties claim that the profile presents an artificial character — an elderly black woman created through digital resources — and has a large reach on the networks. On Instagram alone, the account has more than 700 thousand followers and hundreds of publications.
According to the document, the contents are structured to criticize the president and members of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), such as minister Alexandre de Moraes. The federation maintains that the posts distort relevant topics on the public agenda and could affect the balance of the electoral debate.
One of the points mentioned in the action involves publications that raise doubts about the fairness of the 2022 elections. For the authors of the request, this type of content may fall under article 323 of the Electoral Code, which deals with the dissemination of false information capable of influencing the electorate.

The federation also argues that the use of artificial intelligence without clear identification of authorship makes accountability difficult and can serve as an instrument for illicit practices in the digital environment.
Report from BBC Brazil identified that the creator of the account would be Daniel Cristiano dos Santos, an app driver residing in Magé (RJ). He stated that he manages the profile alone, that he earns low income from the activity and that he refused advertising proposals.
