Project prioritizes elderly people in payments of administrative credits

According to the author of the text, the proposal does not create new expenses, it only organizes the order of payments

Elderly people may have priority in receiving compensation, differences in benefits and other credits owed by the public authorities. This is what the PL (Bill of Law) establishes, under analysis in the Senate.

The senator’s project (PT-RS) changes the Statute of the Elderly Person (.

The Statute already ensures priority for elderly people in the processing of judicial and administrative processes. It also establishes priority in the refund of Income Tax and the allocation of public resources aimed at protecting elderly people. Read the text (PDF – 128 kB).

However, the legislation does not expressly establish a preference in the payment of administrative amounts recognized as due.

According to Paim, PL 790 of 2026 does not create new expenses, it only organizes the order of payments, “limiting itself to rationalizing and humanizing the order of payments, in order to ensure that elderly people receive, during their lifetime, what has already been recognized as their right”.
