The former Minister of Finance and pre-candidate for the government of São Paulo, Fernando Haddad, called senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) “Bolsonaro” and said that his family sells itself as “anti-system”, but has been carrying out “the worst politics in the country” for 30 years. Haddad also said that “Lula’s re-election is imperative” for the PT and for Brazil.
The statement was given at the end of the 8th PT congress. Haddad was the penultimate to speak, right before the party president, Edinho Silva. The former Minister of Finance said that the Bolsonarists “did the devil, mobilized the PRF to prevent voters in the Northeast from going to vote, distributed aid with money that didn’t exist to try to reverse people’s votes”.
“We cannot in any way consider the hypothesis of a setback in October this year. Lula’s reelection is imperative for our future. Lula will compete with ‘Bolsonarinho’, the son of Jair Bolsonaro, a family that has only brought chaos to the country. They sell themselves as anti-system but they have been carrying out the worst politics in the country for 30 years, from the splits to the genocide of the pandemic”, he declared.
Advanced age is active
Haddad stated that it is necessary to “work every day for the re-election of President Lula”. He also said that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s advanced age is an “asset” and “heritage”.
“His (Lula’s) 80 years are an asset. All of his life’s experience, always on the right side of history, without negotiating principles and values. This is an asset,” he stated.
