The presidential candidate and senator criticized the president’s management and accused it of persecuting political opponents during the country’s main agribusiness fair
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL)pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, stated this Monday (27) that the Lula government is only concerned with “trampling and suffocating agribusiness” and in persecuting political opponents.
The statement was made during the Agrishow, the country’s main agribusiness fair, held in Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo.
“Agribusiness is treated like garbage by the current government. Treated like a villain, when in fact it is the country’s solution. The federal government is worried about stepping on and suffocating agriculture. And once again, persecuting political opponents”, said the senator.
In a speech, the pre-candidate once again mentioned the “mission” that, according to him, he received from his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro. “Everyone knows that it wasn’t me who had to be here, but former president Jair Bolsonaro. But God gave me this mission,” he said.
With promises of sector appreciation, Flávio also said that, If elected, he intends to strengthen agribusiness. “I want to commit to all of the event’s agenda. From 2027 onwards, agriculture will be even more valued. There will not be a government chasing the sector, but it will lend a hand”, he declared.
The event also marked the senator’s first public appearance during the pre-campaign alongside the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans). Agrishow was attended by other candidates and right-wing leaders linked to the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
Already Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT)in his third term, did not attend the event in any year.
